Three Easy Ways To Wear: Tailoring | Moda Operandi
Once “very ‘90s,” gray tailoring is newly “very chic.” After a long hiatus, Miuccia Prada brought the shade back on the runway for Spring ‘20 (remember: Freja, Look 1) and it has since emerged as the dominant shade. Embrace it as the new black. We love it head to toe, but don’t be afraid to combine mixed and matched gray tones from different designers.

Plaid—a tried-and-true heritage classic—is a clever way of bringing color and personality into your tailoring collection. Think: your grandfather’s jacket, but more refined and with an elegant, feminine twist. For something a bit more playful, pair with cuffed khaki shorts (which, for us at least, are appropriate for the office during hot summer months). For casual days, denim also works.

Spoiler: trends really don’t get any easier than this. So it’s no surprise the fashion set has been quick to adopt tonal dressing as the new uniform of choice. The rules are simple: one color, many silhouettes and textures. (You can also blend multiple hues within the same family for a similar effect.)
