A century of great buildings and their creators — including Frank Lloyd Wright, Antoni Gaudí, Frank O Gehry and Shigeru Ban — are captured in Taschen's 'Architecture in the 20th Century. XL', a 600-page behemoth that charts the ideas, trends and transitions that defined the 1900s. As well as landmark structures and specific designers, groups, movements and styles are also covered in the hardcover book and are accompanied by large-format photos as well as a plenitude of drawings and floor plans. These ideas, trends and transitions are described in great detail and chronologically across 31 chapters by authors Peter Gössel and Gabriele Leuthäuser, and rounded out with a biographical appendix that covers all of the century’s greatest architects.
